Franz-Josef Schürmann

Infosys Country Head for Germany since 2010, Franz-Josef Schürmann is responsible for business operations and growth in Germany, and for ensuring both client and employee satisfaction. Under his leadership, the region has been characterized by significant market expansion, new service offerings and client acquisitions, well noticed by leading industry rankings.
In the past, Franz-Josef was part of German CEO delegations of the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy (Gabriel, 2014) at the Asia-Pacific Conference in Vietnam as well as of the Federal Secretary of Commerce and Technology (Brüderle, 2010, and Rösler, 2012) to India. He served as a lead advisor to the Indo-German Social Security Agreement and participated in the respective negotiations.
Franz-Josef is Executive Member at BITKOM (the German Association for Information Technology, Telecommunications and New Media), Member of Board Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce and member of the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce. In 2011 Franz-Josef was named judge of the European Business Awards in the Large Enterprises category.
Until joining Infosys in 2010, Franz-Josef was a global client partner for several DAX (German stock index) companies at a management consulting and technology services leader, responsible for providing services – ranging from management consulting to outsourcing.
Franz-Josef holds a Master of Science degree from Purdue University, USA (Fulbright Scholar), and has studied at Bonn University and University of London (Erasmus Scholar).
